my job OWL 2016

Held every year in the exhibition centre in Bad Salzuflen, My Job OWL is something of a home fixture for us. More than 200 companies attended the 9th My Job OWL to present themselves to high school students and jobseekers. We expanded our stand once again this year to 24 square metres – a great success. Our live acts were also new this year, with an extruder tool and various materials available for hands-on explanations. Our visitors also had the chance to put together a small display for "Kinderschokolade".

POS Masters 2016

Together with GiveADays, the specialist trade fair for promotional items, the POS Masters 2016 got off to a great start in Hall C2. Combining the topics of promotional items and POS created an interesting presentation concept for both trade visitors and exhibitors, similar to that of the former “Marketing Services”. As part of the EXPO 4.0 group, the trade fair exploited the maximum synergies to benefit both exhibitors and visitors. Our initial verdict: the quality of visitors was good, but there is room for improvement in the number of exhibitors and footfall.

A new generation

On 31st December 2015, our senior partner and company founder Udo Voßhenrich retired from his position as Managing Director of POS TUNING Udo Voßhenrich GmbH & Co. KG.

With innovative product ideas, Udo Voßhenrich founded the company in Bad Salzuflen in 1998 and, after a modest start, developed it consistently into the successful worldwide company it is today, with 160 staff. The 71-year-old had been gradually transferring his operative role to his son and partner Oliver Voßhenrich and long-standing Managing Director Christoph Moser for many years. He will continue to contribute his innovative skill and enormous wealth of experience to our company as a partner.

Creating family closeness …

Our ‘Little POS’ day nursery has been open for a good year now. Last Friday, Ute Schäfer, the State Minister for Schools, Children, Sport and Family, paid a visit. She praised POS TUNING for its commitment to establishing this daycare facility and hoped that more small and medium size businesses would follow this example.

During the subsequent round of discussions, Oliver Vosshenrich addressed the restrictions imposed by the legal provisions covering day nursery care. According to the law, only 9 agreements can be signed, i.e. maximum 9 children can be looked after in the daycare facility. He proposed making this legal stipulation more flexible for NRW to create emergency places, and splitting places since not all the children require care for the whole day. This would allow more employees to avail of daycare facilitiy for their children.

Mrs Schäfer pointed out that these legal provisions for day nursery care were implemented with family closeness in mind. The children must be guaranteed personal care, which is quite the opposite of public day nursery facilities. However Mrs Schäfer was very interested in POS TUNING’s and Little POS’s wishes and promised to take this as a suggestion to be discussed again at the expert level.

She saw POS TUNING as playing a pioneering role for OWL and suggested further debate on this subject be held locally with the expert representatives from politics and the youth welfare agency with a view to potentially develop day nursery care as part of a model specifically for the corporate environment.

High-ranking visitors to POS TUNING

North-Rhine Westphalia’s Minister-President Mrs Hannelore Kraft today visited our company POS TUNING. Mrs Kraft was very interested in tracking the history of POS TUNING, which began in a garage and led, via two other locations, to the Meerbrede industrial area and 160 employees. Following an informal round of discussions, in which SPD mayoral candidate Roland Thomas and the SPD district administrator candidate Dr Axel Lehmann also took part, Mrs Kraft saw for herself the impressive benefits of pushfeed and shelf management systems.

Experiments outside of school

Today we were visited by the physics class from the 11th grade of the Rudolph-Brandes-Gymnasium in Bad Salzuflen. As part of BINGO (www.bingo-owl.de), the participants built their own component. We are delighted that all the participants enjoyed their visit and joined in so actively.
